 Please join us for a conversation with Deputy UN Representative in Mali, Mr. David Gressly. Mr. Gressly will discuss lessons learned after 12 months of peacekeeping in Mali, and outline the humanitarian and security challenges ahead for the mission.

 David Gressly is Deputy Special Representative in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), and United Nations Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). With more than 20 years of experience within the United Nations system, Mr. Gressly has served with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in various capacities in Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, and Senegal. He was Regional Coordinator in the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) from 2008 to 2011, and Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the Sahel from 2012 to 2013, where he led the humanitarian response to the 2012 food security and nutrition crisis in the region. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Special Representative, Mr. Gressly was Head of the United Nations Office in Mali (UNOM). Mr. Gressly holds an MBA in international finance from the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona, in the United States.
