Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Women, Peace, and Security Program at the Advanced Consortium for Cooperation, Conflict and Complexity (AC4) at the Earth Institute at Columbia University contributes to greater understandings of the diverse roles women play in influencing sustainable peace and human security through everyday activism.  Through education, public service, and research, the WPS Program advances the visibility and capacity of women peacemakers and practitioners, both domestically and internationally, and disseminates lessons learned from their experiences. The
WPS Program at Columbia University advances a broad understanding of peace and security, encompassing urgent issues of everyday safety, structural equality, sustainability, and human rights.

This two-month long 20 hour per week consultancy will assist in analyzing qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation data, summarizing project results, and contributing the final writing of a monitoring and evaluation report. The consultant will work closely with the entire WPS team, under the supervision of the WPS Program Director, to identify and summarize impact and outcome indicators of recent project success and to demonstrate progress in delivery and impact against project, program and organizational strategic objectives. The consultant will also provide technical support to the WPS team by assisting with writing a high quality learning and evaluation report for external stakeholders and a wide public audience.

BASIC FUNCTIONS

• Reviews and summarizes baseline needs assessments, surveys, interviews, focus groups and other qualitative and quantitative methods of evaluation. (50%)
• Assists in writing a high quality learning and evaluation report on lessons learned for wide distribution. (40%)
• Other duties as assigned (10%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented and a quick learner. -Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and with tact.
Previous experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis required.
Strong communications (written and oral) and organizational skills.
Substantive knowledge of different types of learning, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools (emergent learning, outcome mapping, log frames, etc.).
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.
B.A. required, postgraduate work preferred.

COMPENSATION
Commensurate with experience.
