WPS Writing Workshop with Aja Monet
March 29, 2018 | 4:00 – 5:00 PM | School of International and Public Affairs, Room 1512
Event is free but RSVP is required!
An internationally established poet, singer, performer, and educator, Aja Monet’s craft is an in-depth reflection of emotional wisdom, skill, and activism. The youngest individual to win the legendary Nuyorican Poet’s Café Grand Slam title, she is recognized for combining her spellbound voice and powerful imagery on stage. She is the author of Inner-City Chants & Cyborg Cyphers (2015), The Black Unicorn Sings (2010), and co-editor of Chorus: A Literary Mixtape.
Join a participatory writing workshop with Monet, focused on the themes of women, peace and security, and collectively unpack what those terms mean in this contemporary moment of unrest.
This workshop is part of the 6th annual Sustaining Peace Forum; visit the webpage to learn more and to register for other sessions at the forum.
