What the U.S. Military is Doing About Climate Change – New Blog Post on State of the Planet

The lastest blog from Renée Cho, staff writer for the Earth Institute, focuses on What the U.S. is Doing About Climate Change. Cho tells about how the military is aware of the risks of climate change and “been actively working for a number of years already to avoid and adapt to the worst effects of climate change, including flooding, extreme heat, extreme weather, and more.”

Perspective from AC⁴ Co-Executive Director Peter T. Coleman is included in the blog, urging us to see the practicality and value added from the way the military is addressing climate change. Professor Coleman says, “What the military is doing shows that whatever you believe about the left and the right, and about science and scientists, there are groups in this country, including every branch of our military, that have to take it [climate change] seriously, and are responding by scenario planning and sustainability [initiatives], and that there’s real value in that beyond the politics.”
