Beer and War Stories @ SIPA
Beer and War Stories @ Alice’s Cafe, International Relations Building
Thursday, April 28 | 6:30-9:00pm
This event serves an important purpose at SIPA, as our veterans have served in many of the global conflicts that are used as case studies in our classes. “Beer and War Stories” allows the veteran community to open a dialog with our classmates, in order to provide perspective on what it is like on the ground in these areas. As the analyses in class focus on policy decisions, we are able to better convey to our classmates what military operations look like on a day-to-day basis, and the decision-making processes at the tactical level. The title of the event is meant somewhat tongue-in-cheek, as it is intended to challenge the conventional idea of a “war story.” Everybody has seen the coverage of combat operations in the news, but this is an opportunity to hear the rest of the story.
Non-SIPA students and all others interested are also invited.
