March 17th on WKCR 89.9 FM: Professor Peter T. Coleman interviews Dr. Severine Autesserre about her latest book, Peaceland

This month’s edition of Peace and Conflict at Columbia: Conversations from the Leading-Edge with Professor Peter T. Coleman featured the work of Dr. Severine  Autesserre and her latest book, Peaceland.

In her new book, Dr. Autesserre suggests a new explanation for why international peace interventions often fail to reach their full potential. Based on several years of ethnographic research in conflict zones around the world, the book demonstrates that everyday elements – such as the expatriates’ social habits and usual approaches to understanding their areas of operation – strongly influence peacebuilding effectiveness.

The show aired from 9:00pm to 9:30pm at WKCR 89.9 FM NY.
