Bar-Ilan University is Seeking Applicants for Assistant Professor, tenure track, in Conflict Management, Resolution and Negotiation – Starting Fall, 2014

The Interdisciplinary Program in Conflict Management, Resolution and Negotiation at Bar-Ilan University focuses on graduate level studies (M.A with/without thesis and Ph.D). The program has a theoretical emphasis on identity-based conflict and primarily concentrates on three fields: International and Regional Conflicts, Dialogue and Conflict Management in Israel, and Interpersonal and Community Mediation, ADR, Restorative Justice and Conflict Engagement Techniques.

The program has recently articulated four principle goals to guide its future development. These are:

• BUILDING AN INTERDISCIPLINARY COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE AMONG FACULTY, STUDENTS, ALUMNI AND COLLEAGUES IN THE FIELD
• DEVELOPING A DISTINCTIVE NICHE FOR THE PROGRAM FOCUSING ON IDENTITY
• ENSURING THAT OUR PROGRAM HAS THE HIGHEST CALIBER OF RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF THEORY
• PROVIDING OUR STUDENTS WITH THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICAL SKILLS TO ANALYZE AND ADDRESS CONFLICTS EFFECTIVELY AND BECOME CONFLICT SPECIALISTS

Applicants must have strong publication record (at least 4-6 reviewed publications in top Journals of the field) and commitment to continued research and writing. Applicants should have already made, or show potential to make, original and creative contributions to bridging CR theory and practice.

Additional attributes sought include leadership capabilities, collaborative spirit, pedagogical expertise. Language of instruction is Hebrew (We are currently exploring establishing an English Language Program and are looking for adjunct professors for that program as well).
