Columbia University Systems Science Program (CUSSP) Launches New Website!
The mission of the Columbia University Systems Science Program (CUSSP) is to create a home for systems science at Columbia, to develop shared systems science curricula, to nurture interdisciplinary systems science scholars, to promote novel applications of existing methods, and to advance systems science methodologies. CUSSP is a joint venture between the Mailman School of Public Health (MSPH) and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) that brings together scholars to advance the study of how many health problems arise from the interplay of social and biological contexts in complex urban environments. CUSSP works closely with Complex System Approaches in Population Health (CSAPH) – a group of master’s and doctoral students that works to promote a systems science approach to public health issues. Systems-based approaches represent a new methodological chapter in the science of health efficacy and effectiveness research and have the potential to make tractable many pressing health problems.
