This Friday, March 29: The Columbia University Earth Summit: Driving Collaborative Solutions

Join us on March 29 in welcoming Jeffrey Sachs, His Excellency Stuart Beck, Nils Bruzelius, Carrie Norton, and Karl Giberson, among 30 other inspiring speakers! Watch undergraduates battle it out in the Resolution Social Venture Challenge, be inspired by Columbia early-stage entrepreneurs at our Idea Lab, and network during our thematic working lunches (on Agriculture and Fisheries, Biodiversity and Conservation, Energy, or Water) and reception.

This year, The Columbia University Earth Summit is focused on Driving Collaborative Solutions across sectors. Our world is rapidly changing, requiring leaders who can engage stakeholders, inspire partnerships, and challenge barriers.

While the question of climate change is still being discussed, for the vast majority of the population living in rapidly changing circumstances, the debate is over. Climate change is real, and it is here to stay. Climate, along with equally important drivers—such as overpopulation and economic growth—force us to confront an uncomfortable question: are we prepared for the challenge?

Throughout the morning, we will look at the effects of a changing environment on the economy, public health, security and justice, and education. In each session, we will debate ways of engaging new stakeholders, discuss what still needs to be done, and identify the roadblocks. In the afternoon, we will look specifically at finance, policy, and technological solutions to these questions.

Register now. Together, we can find the solutions that make our world a better place for future generations.
