Partnering with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), each of the four teams conducted an 8-week data collection mission in the countries on which their projects are focused: Republic of Liberia, Haiti, Zambia and Colombia. After a semester-long methods course in which first-year students formulated a working plan and methodology, who carried out the field research in June and July of 2011 during their summer break.
