EVENT: Narrative in Conflict – Interviewing Colombians Displaced by Violence
On Tuesday, September 18 the Columbia Center for Oral History and Voice of Witness (VoW) will host “Narrative in Conflict,” a reading and conversation on the latest VoW title Throwing Stones a the Moon: Narratives from Colombians Displaced by Violence with authors Sibyalla Brodzinsky and Max Schoening.

More Information: Sibylla Brodzinsky, is a journalist who has written on Latin American Politics, social issues, and human rights for The Economist, The Christian Science Monitor, and The Guardian, and Max Schoening is a researcher for Human Rights Watch and contributing researcher for an upcoming photographic book, Violentology: A Manual of the Colombian Conflict by Stephe
n Ferry. The editors will discuss collecting the narratives of Colombian’s displaced by internal armed conflict during the past five decades, which include the effect this human rights crisis has had on their lives, the reasons for their flight, and their struggle to rebuild their lives.
