Amtrak published a new five strategic plan, which omitted any reference to climate change. Previous versions of the plan had listed “environment / climate change” as the number one threat to Amtrak’s system.

Amtrak blocked release of a study, titled “Amtrak NEC Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment,” detailing the impact of climate change on a 10-mile stretch of the Northeast Corridor Route connecting Boston to Washington D.C. A redacted version of the study was released, pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act request, in November 2018.
