Michigan v. EPA

After industry groups challenged EPA standards regulating mercury and other air pollutants, state and local governments intervened in support of the rule. Though the D.C. Circuit upheld the standards, the Supreme Court reversed, finding that the EPA had impermissibly failed to consider costs in setting the standards.
