OSHA Advisory Committees Suspended

In December 2017, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) indicated that it would re-evaluate the work of its advisory committees, including the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH) and the Whistleblower Protection Advisory Committee (WPAC).

Neither NACOSH, nor WPAC, met in 2017. Members of NACOSH were reportedly told that they would not meet until the new OSHA director was confirmed. In the meantime, the appointment of new members has been put on hold, despite the fact that half of the existing members’ terms have expired, and the committee does not currently have a quorum.
