EPA Scientist’s Participation in Public Events Restricted
An Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) scientist claims he was warned not to participate in any public-facing events about climate change or to have such events approved by headquarters in advance. According to the scientist, he was told not to present on climate change at an Earth Day event, which he had agreed to before the administration change. The scientist changed the name of the talk and went ahead. He was told by the legal department that if a reporter were in attendance, and he spoke openly about climate change, it could affect his job.
