EPA Enforcement Agents Reassigned

On September 19, 2017, the Washington Post reported that agents in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Criminal Investigation Division had been reassigned to Administrator Pruitt’s security detail, forcing them to suspend existing investigations into “climate crimes.” The following month, an agency spokesperson announced that the reassignments had been temporary, and that most of the criminal investigators assigned to Administrator Pruitt’s security detail have returned to their regular duties.
