In a press conference on December 7, 2017, Vermont State Governor Phil Scott contradicted scientific research establishing that climate change will have widespread negative impacts. He asserted that “[c]limate change could be in some ways beneficial to Vermont.” However, the vast majority of scientists agree that climate change will harm Vermont, and other U.S. states.
