Climate Science Misrepresented by Maine Governor

During a speech to the Waterville Rotary Club on August 14, 2017, Maine Governor Paul LePage erroneously asserted that the Earth has experienced cooling over the last two years. Governor LePage then said that, while the Earth may have experienced warming over long timeframes, he is “not satisfied that it’s all man-made.” He questioned the validity of scientific research linking human activities to climate change, stating “[h]ow much is created by man is unclear.”
