Bill Undermining Teaching of Evolution Introduced in Arkansas

On March 6, 2017, a bill (House Bill 2050) was introduced in the Arkansas House of Representatives that would, if enacted, “all public school teachers to teach creationism and intelligent design as theories alongside the teaching . . . of evolution.” The bill was reportedly filed a “shell bill,” including only its title, subtitle, and a description. The full text of the bill was never provided to the legislature.

UpdateHouse Bill 2050 reportedly died on April 3, 2017, when the Arkansas legislature went into recess.
