A panel of five scientists published a report arguing that the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s decision to take gray wolves off the endangered species list is not supported by the science.

Scientists at the U.S. Geological Survey were directed to use computer-generated models that only project climate change impacts through 2040. The scientists had previously modeled climate change impacts through 2100, which experts say provides a more accurate picture of climate change because the effects of current greenhouse gas emissions will primarily be felt after 2040.
