Connecticut AG partnered with other government and nprivate entiies to provide kits for the safe disposal of prescription medication, one goal being to reduce water pollution.

Summary: Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals donated 80,000 kits that allow citizens to dispose of prescription medications without contaminating water supplies. Citizens can simply add warm water to the kit to deactivate the medication, which can then be safely disposed in the regular trash. The kits were made available at 600 participating pharmacies. The entire project was facilitated by the Connecticut Attorney General’s office.
