Trump Signs Resolution to Repeal BLM Planning 2.0 Rule

President Trump signed a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to repeal the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)’s Planning 2.0 rule. The Planning 2.0 rule was a regulation aimed at improving BLM’s ability to respond to changing conditions and implement landscape-level management approaches that transcend traditional administrative boundaries.  The rule also contained provisions aimed at ensuring that BLM officials incorporate the most current data and technology into their plans and reviews.  One goal of the rule was to allow BLM to more readily address changing conditions on public lands caused by climate change.

As reported earlier, the resolution had already passed both the House and Senate. With Trump’s approval, the resolution now becomes law and the Planning 2.0 Rule will be repealed.
