DOI Proposes Expansion of Offshore Oil and Gas Drilling

The U.S. Department of the Interior announced its proposed National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program for 2019-2024, which would make over ninety percent of the outer continental shelf (OCS) available for future oil and gas exploration and development. In comparison, the current program puts ninety-four percent of the OCS off-limits to oil and gas development.
