Bill Introduced in House to Eliminate EPA Programs

Rep. Johnson (R-TX-3) introduced a bill (H.R.958) “to eliminate certain programs of the Environmental Protection Agency, and for other purposes.” A copy of the bill is available here.

The bill would prohibit EPA from using federal funds to regulate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from mobile sources and fossil fuel-fired electric utility generating units. The bill would also prohibit EPA from using federal funds to support the implementation of the following programs (and any similar or successor programs): GHG Reporting Program, Global Methane Initiative, Climate Resilience Fund, Climate Resilience Evaluation Awareness Tool, Green Infrastructure Program, Climate Ready Water Utilities Initiative, and climate research at the EPA Office of Research and Development.
