While policymakers increasingly know where they’re going, questions remain about how to get there. This event will explore legal and policy tools that can accelerate the transition away from fossil fuel-based economies in key sectors: electricity, transportation, buildings, and industry. The event will feature presentations by the authors of two recent books on the topic: (1) Designing Climate Solutions: A Policy Guide for Low-Carbon Energy, co-authored by Sonia Aggarwal: and (2) Legal Pathways to Deep Decarbonization in the U.S., co-authored by Michael Gerrard.
Speakers
Sonia Aggarwal, Vice President, Energy Innovation
Dale Bryk, Deputy Secretary for Energy & Environment, Office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, State of New York
Michael Gerrard, Andrew Sabin Professor of Professional Practice & Faculty Director, Sabin Center for Climate Change Law, Columbia Law School.
