Food Systems Dialogue
Date: September 11, 2020, 9:15-11:00am
Location: Online (invite-only)
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) hosted the Food Systems Dialogue for Investors during the third annual conference of the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment. This was a discussion among leaders from global food companies and investment firms on food systems policies and practices. The two-hour, invite-only online session included topics on the coherence and rigor of SDG measurement and reporting, internalizing food system externalities, and investor use of disclosed information for portfolio management decisions. This session had a specific focus on the EU and UK and reflected on impacts of Covid-19 on the regional and global food system.
About the session
The Food Systems Dialogues were created by Dr. David Nabarro, WHO Special Envoy and winner of the 2018 Global Food Prize. Dr. Nabarro and his team have held nearly 40 Food Systems Dialogues throughout the world and online helping to establish common understanding and key thematic areas on the need for global food systems transformation. WBCSD, an original partner in the Food Systems Dialogues, is convening this series of events specifically focused on the investment community and companies. All Dialogues are confidential and operated by Chatham House Rule.
